For those of you who have been following from the beginning, you know how lucky we were to win an engagement photo session back in November. Even Better? All of the proceeds went to support the Southwest Humane Society, where we both volunteer.
When it came time to look into a photographer for our wedding, we were hoping to find someone else who supported community efforts. Easier said than done.
Enter Lace Images. We set up a consultation to meet with Gina because we liked her work. She was already selling us on her professionalism, creativity, and personality. Then she mentioned her work with the Pujohl’s Family Foundation and other organizations to use her photography for charitable work. We were sold.
I realized that if you’re interested in taking small steps to give back while planning a wedding, look no further than your vendors. We’ve lucked out and have found photographers who share similar values as we do. We also considered using a non-profit venue like the Zoo as opposed to a corporate hotel, considered hiring a florist who uses locally grown flowers, and considered hiring a caterer who uses free-range products.
The sky is the limit when it comes to giving back during your wedding planning. You just have to be willing to look.
